Houshou Marine really not doing any favors here for the, "there's no correlation between lolicon/shotacon fans wanting to harm actual children" argument that goobers like to dish out.

It has been years since I saw this clip and I still think about it every time I see Marine. Was something mistranslated? Am I misinterpreting her? Was she just joking and it flew over my head? Actually, from a humanitarian perspective, what Goku did was indeed ignorant because Goku actually sacrificed his child just for his selfishness as a Saiyan who likes to fight, but on the other hand, Goku can actually see the very good potential of someone who has a chance to win. a fight that was impossible to beat because Goku admitted that Goku's fighting power at that time was not enough to surpass Cell. So, Marine can indeed be said to be right about Goku. I think Goku is different from Vegeta at that time. Vegeta only wants to fight to make himself stronger but Goku fights only to protect him from enemies who would threaten world security. So, in conclusion, Goku told Gohan to fight Cell so that Gohan's Secret Potential that Goku saw would make Cell surrender and end Cell's threat. because unlike Vegeta who let Cell get stronger so he could satisfy the Saiyan's true desires, Goku from the start hoped that Gohan SS2 could destroy Cell as quickly as possible. but unfortunately, Goku actually saw the Saiyan arrogance side that emerged from Gohan which made Cell afraid and tortured him slowly without knowing that Cell could still carry out his final act of exploding himself which could destroy the Earth along with him. So, I can accept Marine's thoughts.

People forget he only did that to give Gohan a good fight because he thought his son liked fighting like he did. Once Piccolo spells out that isn't the case, he immediately tries to take over for him but by that point Cell was intrigued by Gohan's potential and refused to let him.

To be fair, Vegeta had Cell on the ropes when he was on his 2nd form and he just let cell go just so he can get his perfect form becuz he overestimate himself that he can beat him no sweat. So both are in the wrong

Yamcha is weirdly great in the Fighterz game.

I never saw it as Goku wanting a fair fight, I think he was doing it to push Gohan and to prove a point. Remember, he's the only one who's seen Gohan push beyond super saiyan at this point. He knows what kind of power was waiting to explode, and he knew what it took to activate it. Still a dick move, but I can understand why, at least.

I like yamcha. he's one of gokus oldest friends. He's an older friend than krillin. I don't like how they treat him but it makes sense. Writers don't know what to do with him so they should remove him or write a story for him that would make sense.
